How to come up with ideas for content faster: 6 secrets to get into your creative flow.
People always ask me, “how the heck do you come up with such powerful and unique content quickly?”
I’ve got two boys. We homeschool and I’m the CEO of two online businesses.
“What’s my secret to come up with ideas for content faster?
I’ve actually got 6 of them. And I’m going to share them with you.
I mean it’s no secret.
“I’m very busy and important.” (said in my best Bridget Jones voice lol).
Sometimes I’ll have a few solid days of working, but for the most part it’s a few hours here and a few hours there.
I’ve had to learn to create great content fast.
Emails, Webinars, videos, trainings. social content…it all takes creativity.
The truth is everyone’s creative. But not everyone knows how to “get there.”
Yesterday, I spent 45 min trying to create”converting content” in an analytical way.
It was awful. hahaha. It’s hard work, frustrating and overwhelming.
I quickly made the conscious shift back into creative-land. Because try as I might- there was nothing for me in that “think tank.”
You’re better off in the “feel tank,” any day of the week.
Ready to create some creative on vibe content together? I thought so, let’s roll out the 6 secrets!
6 Steps to get unstuck and step into your creative flow.
Just watch how your mind shifts.
#1 Let it go.
Take off the pressure to “get it done right now.” Even if you just take a mental “5 min break.”
Just taking off the pressure will let your creativity surface. (It’s like telling yourself you just have to do half of your workout…you know once you get started you’ll do the whole thing).
#2 Revamp your Happy Vibe
Chances are you’ve been stressing about creating this thing for a while now. Ask yourself in this moment, “what could I do to feel happy in this moment?” Sounds too simple? It works every time.
No genius ever created anything all stressed out. It’s while they were on a walk or marveling at nature. Give yourself the permission to do what you want right now!
(Watch a movie? Take a nap? Go get ice cream no judgment, just balance it with green juice tomorrow;)
#3 It’s OVER. Now what?
Think about the end results.
What does it mean to you when you get this “thing” completed? How will it feel to have it done and move on with your next project? What are the YASSS moments from this thing being already completed?
Really allow yourself to think about what happens next. (all the good things).
Income goals? Is there a vacation coming as a result of this? Moving on to the next project that you’re excited to start?
What happens next?
#4 Ask your intuition for guidance.
Turn it over to a higher power and continue to relax into it already being done.
“What do I need to see in this moment that would help me?” “What should I do to make this easier or more fun?”
Simply state questions in a neutral way. Don’t wait for the answer, just release the question and move onto #5.
#5 Switch it up.
Let go of the “I have to get this done now and it better convert” mantra.
Instead, ask yourself- how can I give into this moment?”
Let’s say you are trying to come up with an opt-in for your website. Instead of wondering which information to choose and how to present it…go back to the basics.
Ask yourself, what could I GIVE to her? What does she need to hear?
Notice how changing the “I have to create or get this right” into “how can I help and share what I know,” takes the pressure off.
#6 RELAX into your solution.
Relax, and let go of your “problem.”
You have to take the pressure off to get into your creative flow.
The faster you do, the faster the idea will appear. It IS already done.
(Totally woo woo) but the universe is waiting for YOU to play catch up.
So play the game. Get out of your own way.
Stop looking at the problem and relax.
When you take off the pressure to create your creativity can come forward.
Your content should surface with just the right idea or guidance at this point.
Then get ready to race to put that idea down on paper.
The whole process to follow these 6 steps should take no more than 1 -24 hours.
If you are still having problems at this point, you are not clear on what you want to create. Your offer might need refining. %80 of my clients need help with this. Or you may not really fully trust your authentic voice and so the ideas that surface to you don’t resonate….
These 6 steps are powerful.
They will help you from looking around for “inspiration.”
and they will really allow your voice to come forward.
If you feel you don’t really have a brand story or you really do kind of just create content that you see works for others- you need to start taking your power back. We need YOUR voice.
It’s one of the things I teach in my 12 week Write to Her Heart ™ program.
Give these 6 steps a try and let me know if they helped you create ideas and content faster!
Try them out and let me know how they work for you!!
