How To Define Your Purpose In Business As An Entrepreneur- 4 Steps To Serve On A Deeper Level.
When we clearly define our purpose, we transform the very way we show up to help our clients transform.
The truth is our purpose is always with us. But sometimes we need a better vantage point to see + understand it, especially when there is a call to uplevel.
If you’ve been struggling with the concept of defining your purpose, coupled with the innate desire to share more of your purpose inside your business offerings, this will help.
When you make it a priority, finding your purpose in becoming an entrepreneur really does begin the process of connect even deeper within, and in doing so creates that expansion or needed space for deeper healing, processing and awareness. For both you as the business owner, and the space you hold for your clients,
The results of finding and unlocking this deeper purpose into the work that you do, is that it will make everything you do in your business from serving your clients to creating the marketing and strategies to call forward ideal clients that must easier…
Remember, the clarity you are seeking, is also seeking you, and when you know where to look, your purpose will literally unfold from within…let’s begin.
Step 1: Your Calling-The Seed.
Defining your purpose begins with acknowledgement with what you know so far. Remember “What you are seeking is seeking you.” Rummi.
When you take the time to get curious with what calls you, what you feel called to do to help, teach or transform, you acknowledge the tiny seed that is planted within your consciousness.
Just like in nature, everything you need to grow into what you came here to do, is provided. Your story, challenges, successes, innate gifts and even family systems are all in perfect order.
Take a moment and acknowledge that your purpose is innate and that your life to date has prepared you to grow into and with this purpose so you can share it…
To get clarity with your purpose and define how to share it, start with narrowing down the feeling and direction to just a few words or concepts.
- Action Step: Try using this business purpose statement example, “I want to help people xyz and the way I feel I might do this is xyz.
- Or try,”I came here to this planet to xyz and xyz.”
Step#2 Your Past-The Roots
Your personal journey from struggle to success is exactly what will connect you to others who need your area of expertise, passion or strength.
A lot of my clients worry in the beginning how to clearly infuse the deeper elements of their gifts into programs and courses etc. However, when the purpose or intention of WHY and HOW you want to help is present, that deeper purpose will surface.
For example, I have clients who teach others to heal from past relationship issues or trauma.
I have clients who take a deeper awakening approach to physical fitness for example creating a pilates program to awaken the feminine.
The point is, accepting your story and unique calling to a particular area is the first act of self permission that is needed to begin sharing your purpose in a deeper way.
- Reflection Tip: Your past, story, struggles and successes perfectly position and align you with your ideal clients. With this in mind, think about a few of your favourite people to help or serve. Notice how your story or roots are similar their own journey.
Step #3 Unfolding your Tools or Modalities-The Growth
Everyone has a signature modality or system in how you got from where you were to where you are today.
Even if you’re not aware of it, you do have a unique way or modality that helped you get from a to z.
There is no greater way to share your purpose with impact that creating a sacred space that walks someone through a process that get’s them the same results you’ve experienced.
In the beginning most are not aware of this modality, signature system or unique way of sharing their tools. But when awareness is achieved, massive growth unfolds for both involved. Confidence and sustainable results manifest when you become aware of exactly how to hold this type of powerful space for your clients.
We see this growth in terms of confidence, results, increased prices and the very program or course itself. The beautiful thing is that your clients will grow with you in this space.
Think about the way you teach or get results. Are you aware of your exact process or ways to communicate the way you can get someone results?
Step #4 Answering the call to lead-The Mastery
When you’ve answered the call to help serve, heal and transform, you’re ready to show up in an even more expanded state.
In this stage, we often see duplication happen. Your team will grow, your work with deepen and both you and the people you work with expand.
This type of personal growth requires surrender, self compassion and alignment with grace and source power.
But with it comes the power to lead with the highest forms of service and power to facilitate transformation with your gifts.
Action Step: Ask yourself, what’s needed for me to expand my message? What would help me share my purpose in an even deeper way?
For some it’s self permission to try something new. Freeing up space to create that program, working with someone to help you see the first steps to unveil this process. Mapping out that modality or system to transform…
Whatever this personal mastery with regards to your business is, know that you are always supported. That you have all the ingredients to activate and ascend your highest purpose.
And that the clarity you seek is always seeking you, as are your ideal clients.
So relax into this growth stage, plant that seed of intention to define your purpose and watch as the ways unfold to share and serve with even greater impact.
Remember, spirit will meet you where you are.
And the right people, teachers and guides will show up to help you fulfill this purpose.
Collectively we are the forest of purpose. All growing, sharing, supporting and living with one purpose.
Key takeaways when looking to define and share your larger purpose with others:
- Your purpose is always with you
- Narrow your gifts down to even just 2 words
- Create a “definition of purpose” sentence sharing how you want to help
- Teach or share your “path,” or modality how you got from a to z
- Be prepared to expand your message or the way you offer your transformational support
As you grow, so does your purpose. When we take the time to unfold and clarify our deepest purpose all areas of our business and self expression expand. Even our physical and emotional well-being is positively effected when we find and live with purpose in life.
And remember no one needs you to be a guru 24/7 or have it all figured out. You are allowed to begin where you are. To that one person who is steps behind you, you are the very light they are seeking.
